Engineering Manager, Automotive Manufacturing

Phenix Truck & Van, a premier producer of superior commercial vehicles, seeks an ambitious Engineering Manager to lead our talented design and engineering team. As part of our dynamic team, you will be instrumental in steering the creation and improvement of our truck and van models, ensuring they meet the evolving demands of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of design and engineering experts, promoting a culture of collaboration and high performance.
• Execute a strategic plan for the design and engineering department.
• Supervise the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to product launch and post-launch activities.
• Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and resources to guarantee efficient and effective completion of all projects.
• Drive process optimizations to boost team productivity and product quality.
• Engage with various departments, such as sales, marketing, and production, to ensure a unified approach to product development and launch activities.
• Encourage a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement among the design and engineering staff.
• Remain abreast of industry advancements and integrate cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enhance our product offerings and workflows.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least 7-10 years of experience in leadership roles within the engineering or design sector, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industries.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Solid grasp of product development fundamentals, from conception to product delivery and support.
• Exceptional skills in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in managing multiple projects under deadlines.

Work Environment

• Typical office environment conditions for design and workstation tasks (~70%)
• A portion of the time will be spent in a manufacturing floor/shop environment, under & on vehicles (~30%)
