Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wood Department Manager to oversee our woodworking operations. The Wood Department Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the wood department, including production, quality control, inventory management, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking, excellent managerial skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional products.Supervisory Responsibilities:- Yes.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the wood department, including scheduling, production planning, and resource allocation.
- Supervise and provide leadership to the wood department team, including training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company polices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Implement and maintain quality control measure to ensure the highest standards of craftmanship and product quality.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as design, engineering, and manufacturing, to coordinate projects and meet customer requirements.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiency-enhancing initiatives.
- Monitor departmental performance metrics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to upper management.
- Background in woodworking techniques, including knowledge og various types of wood, joinery methods, and finishing process.
- The ability to effectively lead and management a team in essential. This includes skills in team leadership, performance management, training, and development.
- Identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve processes and overcome challenges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- 3-5 years of work experience in the Production industry as an Assistant Production Manager, Production Associate, or a similar position
- The ability to sit or walk for extended periods of time.
- Outdoor production shop environment / some office work environment
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
