Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and install the ship’s fluid systems, including fresh water, gray water, black water, hydraulic, oil, fuel, etc.
- Lay out, bend, dry fit, and finally install and test fluid systems.
- Fabricate and install other mechanical systems, including HVAC, steering systems, propulsion systems, and other hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Safely operate a variety of equipment and handheld tools, including powered, pneumatic, hydraulic, vibratory, and hand tools.
- Utilize construction drawings, specifications, and other materials to construct and install parts.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and ensure that all tools, materials, and flammable chemicals are stored properly.
- Fulfill any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Stand/walk for 8+ hours per day.
- Frequently use stairs, ramps, ladders, and stools.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Engage in extended periods of overhead work.
- Bend, kneel, and crawl on a regular basis.
- Perform frequent and repetitive arm and hand motions, handling, grasping, etc.
- Frequently reach below knees, knees to shoulders, and above shoulders.
- Wear necessary personal protection equipment, including respiratory protection equipment, safety glasses/goggles, rubber gloves, coveralls, hearing protection, fall protection, etc.
