Job Title: Irrigation Technician - We are willing to offer paid training to qualified individuals.

Overview: As an Irrigation Technician, you will play a vital role in the maintenance and installation of irrigation systems for residential, commercial, and agricultural properties. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, repairing, and installing irrigation equipment to ensure optimal water distribution and conservation. You will work closely with clients, landscapers, and other team members to deliver high-quality irrigation solutions tailored to the specific needs of each project.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems including pipes, valves, controllers, and sprinkler heads according to industry standards and client specifications.

    Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with irrigation systems such as leaks, low water pressure, and faulty components, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.

    System Upgrades: Assess existing irrigation systems for efficiency and recommend and implement upgrades or modifications to improve performance and water conservation.

    Programming: Set up and program irrigation controllers based on factors such as plant type, soil conditions, and weather forecasts to optimize water usage and minimize waste.

    Inspections and Testing: Conduct routine inspections and testing of irrigation systems to identify potential problems or inefficiencies, and perform necessary adjustments or repairs.

    Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards for irrigation system installation and operation. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries on job sites.

    Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, parts inventory, and client communication, to track project progress and facilitate billing and invoicing.

    Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their irrigation needs, provide recommendations and advice, and address any concerns or questions they may have in a professional and courteous manner.

    Team Collaboration: Collaborate with landscapers, contractors, and other team members to coordinate irrigation projects, share resources and expertise, and ensure seamless integration with landscaping and hardscaping elements.

    Training and Development: Stay updated on advancements in irrigation technology, techniques, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in irrigation systems preferred.

    Prior experience in irrigation installation, maintenance, or related field highly desirable.

    Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

    Knowledge of irrigation equipment, tools, and materials.

    Familiarity with irrigation system design principles and hydraulics.

    Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.

    Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

    Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

    Willingness to travel to job sites and work flexible hours as needed.
