A major pharmaceutical distribution company needs permanent, full-time Lead Maintenance Technician at their Packaging plant in Chicagoland, IL. Excellent pay + O/T + full Benefits + bonus Job Posting # 2484R Job Title:  Lead Maintenance Technician - Automation – 3rd Shift.              Location:  Mount Prospect, IL    3rd Shift = 10 PM – 6.30 AM (See Note 1)          Compensation:  Pay range $35 - $40 / HR + $1 for 3rd shift differential + OT (1.5x) Relocation:  Client will offer a retention bonus of $5K (grossed up for taxes) which can be used for relocation, to be paid in 3 payments after 30/60/90 days of employments Full benefits – Medical (starts 1st of month) Dental, Vision, 401K, 16 days PTO etc.  Company Info:   A major pharmaceutical distribution company with $100+ Billion in sales, has a high-tech, high-speed and high-volume pharmaceutical packaging plant in Illinois with around 500 people, dispensing unique prescription packages of around 800K per week  Group Info:  Be part of the non-union Maintenance group of 20+ technical people. This is a permanent position reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor  Note 1: This is a 3rd shift position working Monday - Thursday 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM + Saturday 12:00 AM – 8:30AM. This person will overlap 2 hours with 2nd shift during active packaging time and then perform Preventive Maintenance tasks during non-packaging down time later in the night. Note 2: The maintenance Lead Technician will work on systems using skills which are 55% mechanical and 45% electrical/automation. Note 3: The high-speed packaging operation includes high tech systems with 6 axis robots (ABB), vision inspection (Cognex), barcode scanners, conveyers, counting, dispensing, bottling, packing, and boxing/bagging all controlled by sophisticated PLC/HMI (Allen Bradley MicroLogix, + Bechoff controller) Servomotors based automation systems. Note 4: The right person will need experience maintaining Plant production/packaging systems. Candidates with only facility/utility/HVAC system maintenance experience will not be considered Job Summary: Lead a team of 5 multi-skilled maintenance mechanics while working with engineers and other technical support personnel to maintain equipment in a large volume advanced technology pharmaceutical dispensing facility to ensure equipment availability, efficiency and reliability. Maintain, repair and enhance equipment to meet production goals as well as quality expectations. In this position you will work with equipment such as but not limited to ABB Robots, Allen Bradley PLCs, Bechoff PLCs, Bechoff EtherCat systems, Thermal Transfer Printers, Variable Frequency Drives, Servo Motors, Servo Controllers, Various Barcode Scanners, Vision Inspection Systems, Conveyor Systems and Custom Medication Dispensing Equipment. Provide a leadership role in mentoring, training and developing less experienced maintenance team members. Your efforts will impact the lives of thousands of patients who rely on the critical medications that are dispensed by this facility. Job Description: The successful candidate will drive innovation and continuous improvement, must be able to work independently, in teams and closely with operations, engineering, quality and other technical support groups to resolve issues. This position will support Automation Maintenance Supervision and Automation Maintenance Management with scheduling and timely completion of preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance. Candidate Must Have: 

• 5+ years of maintenance, troubleshooting, installing and testing experience with Automation systems like - PLC/HMI, Barcode Scanning, Vision Inspection for high Speed packaging industries like Food, BioPharma, Consumer goods, Automotive, Cosmetics, Medical Device
• 3+ years in a Leadership role with demonstrated competency to train team members.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and CMMS
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining Mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems (pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, vacuum pumps, etc.)

• Good communication & people skills to interface with production, engineering, etc.
• Ability to work in 3rd shift (As per Note 1).

 Candidate Nice to Have: 

• Familiar with 5 Why and/or other Root Cause Analysis tools

• Experience working in a regulated environment - GMP, ISO 9000, ISO 13485, FDA, Pharmaceutical or Medical Device, OSHA, LOTO, etc. 
• Troubleshooting experience with Robots & vision inspection systems.
