Job Title: Front Desk Coordinator (with Potential for Advancement to Manager)

Location: Calm, Oakland, CA

Owned and operated by Eryn Harrison, Calm is an oasis of dedicated artists who understand the need to escape the hectic pace of everyday life. Whether clients are visiting Calm for a quick blow-dry, or full highlights and a haircut, they will be treated with impeccable customer service. Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and fun Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for clients, providing excellent customer service, managing appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk and the salon. Additionally, this position offers the exciting opportunity for advancement to Salon Manager after 90+ days, based on performance and suitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet clients with a warm and welcoming demeanor, providing exceptional customer service at all times

Manage salon appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming bookings

Answer phone calls and emails and provide information about salon services and pricing

Process payments and handle cash transactions

Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front desk area, ensuring a tidy and professional salon environment

Assist with retail sales of salon products and recommend products to clients based on their needs

Collaborate with stylists and other team members to ensure efficient salon operations

Requirements:

Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role, preferably within the beauty or hospitality industry

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a kind and professional demeanor

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in salon management software and/or appointment scheduling systems is a plus

Experience using social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook

Proficiency in Social Media management and marketing is a plus

Enthusiasm for the beauty industry and a passion for providing exceptional service to clients

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required

Ability to attend in-salon education (may fall outside regularly scheduled hours)
