Labor Solutions is staffing for an extremely busy fabrication and machine shop in Riverside and looking for Machine Shop Assistants. The ideal candidate would have 1-2 years' experience in a machine shop environment. They would be familiar with deburring parts, chasing threaded holes, hand-working machine surfaces, assisting machinists with setups, and using machine shop tooling equipment.
Hours: Sunday – Thursday 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM (*Must train on days)
Pay: $20-$25/hr depending on experience
Machine Shop Assistant Job Responsibilities:
- Help skilled machinists set up very large workpieces.
- Assist machinists with tooling.
- Tooling inventory
- Honing bore diameters to size.
- Reaming holes
- Operating Bridgeport / manual lathe (training provided)
- Operate a drill press.
Machine Shop Assistant Requirements:
- Able to read blueprints.
- Able to use a Forklift.
- Ability to use an overhead crane is preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years' experience in a machine shop.
