Forging Cell Support Technician

The Cell Support Technician reports to Forging Supervisor and is responsible for supporting the Supervisor in safely and efficiently operating equipment used to produce high-quality forged components.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for entering downtime for Industry 4.0 and filling out line readiness sheet.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure proper forging temperatures, pressures, and cycle times.
• Responsible for completing changeover tasks i.e. change of programs and completion of setup confirmation sheet.
• Teaches and adjusts robot settings based on the product line running on the line. Adjusts sensors on robot grippers.
• Adjusts forging parameters to resolve process issues.
• Assist Team Leader in troubleshooting and root cause analysis (Process, Equipment, Tooling and/or Training Related Issues)
• Supports all new hire training up to the Basic Qualification Level (target completion before employee reaches 90 day probationary period)
• Leads new hire intermediate level training.
• Support development of work instructions, SOPs, and job aides
• Support Supervisor in day-to-day oversight of the cell/shift to achieve goals

Education and Experience:

• AAS or Certificate in Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics or similar coursework strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven experience as a set up or support technician within a forging or manufacturing environment required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
