Principal Architect

The Concierge offering is a mission critical application that provides in-store team members with clienteling, assisted selling, mobile point of sale and other key capabilities that deliver the future of retail and food & beverage. Concierge integrates existing retail investments including CRM, POS, eCommerce, Order Management, ERP, Payment, etc.

The Principal Architect is a key role in the organization that works closely with our Engineering team and our Product team to ensure that all Mad Mobile products are successfully architected, designed, and extensible at scale.

Responsibilities:

1. Works closely with Chief Architect, CTO, and executives to align technical efforts across the company.
2. Breaks down and executes complex business problems that span across the entire engineering organization displaying ownership over the company's entire product lineup with impact felt across the entire company.
3. Takes a high degree of responsibility in shaping the technical direction for the platform in its current incarnation, along with the vision looking forward with the ability to assess impact to future lines of business.
4. Communicates and influences technical and design decisions to senior leadership as well as contributes at the implementation level among engineers.
5. Represents the company in various industry/technical forums to showcase and advocate our effort to become a leading technology company.

• Preferred MS in Computer Science with 10+ years of professional experience
• Substantial demonstrated experience innovating, building, and delivering awesome software products and customer experiences solving complex business problems at scale
• Strong understanding of enterprise software solutions including communications technologies, customer relationship management, point of sale, payment, ERP, workforce management, etc.
• Extensive experience integrating systems through APIs including REST and SOAP interfaces, ETL transformations, and other basic systems integration approaches
• Strong knowledge of security, identity management, authentication standards, etc. including OAuth, OpenID, etc.
• Great visual communicator, able to create architectural documents that describe systems, integrations, software delivery approaches, data relationships, invocation sequencing, networking and other key concepts using tools like PlantUML / Visio / Draw.io etc.
• Experience acting as the primary or lead architect on large scale enterprise software products.
• Strong technical background with a personal preference in remaining highly technical with hands-on participation
• Strong customer focus, excellent communication and relationship building skills. Ability to frame a problem clearly and meaningfully
• Programming experience with React or Swift, and Java or JavaScript as part of a team writing major systems or web applications.
• Some travel, less than 25%

• Previous food & beverage systems integration experience such as NCR Aloha, Simphony, POSitouch, etc.
• Previous work with food & beverage points of sale, KDS systems, loyalty systems, and payment solutions including payment gateways
• Experience working with engineering teams as an Architect or other primary technical leadership role
