Job description

If you're an early-morning, detail-oriented person with strong customer service and computer skills, who is looking for a rewarding career that contributes to healthy school meals for Southern California's school children, please consider applying.
The Pomona Distribution Center, operated by the Nutrition Services Division of the California Department of Education, receives and stores dry, chilled, and frozen foods which are then delivered to schools throughout Central and Southern California for use in their school nutrition programs. The Office Technician (Typing) is responsible for completing and monitoring processes within a computerized system that allows schools to order food, store food on site, and arrange for delivery. This position also provides technical assistance to schools on the ordering system, supporting the adjustment of orders and deliveries; completes associated documentation; and helps resolve ordering issues. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing incoming mail, accurate and timely invoicing, and for monitoring the extended storage program for school food stored on site.
Hybrid schedule requires a minimum of three days per week reporting to the office in-person. Core business hours: M-F, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Free parking.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
