Job Summary:
Mo-Kan Trailer Repair is seeking a skilled Semi Trailer Mechanic with a strong emphasis on trailer bodywork and general trailer repair. This role includes structural and cosmetic repairsโ€”such as panel replacement, welding, and frame workโ€”as well as routine maintenance and mechanical tasks like lighting, brakes, and suspension. The ideal candidate has experience working with dry vans, reefers, and flatbeds, and takes pride in high-quality, safety-focused work.
Responsibilitiesย 
  • Repair damaged trailer bodies: replace panels, roofs, floors, and sidewalls
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and frame work (MIG welding preferred)
  • Conduct inspections to assess damage and plan repair strategy
  • Operate shop tools and equipment (including forklifts)
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Communicate with the team to ensure efficient workflow
  • Assist with light mechanical tasks as needed

Qualifications
  • 1+ year of hands-on trailer body repair experience (Required)
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Experience with dry vans, reefers, and flatbeds
  • Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Welding certification or vocational training is a plus
  • Must be able to reliably commute to Kansas City, MO 64101
