Yard Material Handler - Position Summary
The 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:30pm) Yard Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, trailers, and non-inventory items between the Aveda BMF facilities. This role primarily operates an electric yard tractor (semi-truck) to transport inventory, position trailers at dock doors, and support overall yard logistics operations.
The position plays a key role in maintaining material flow between buildings, managing trailer movements throughout the yard, and supporting warehouse operations through inventory transfers, trailer spotting, and coordination with shipping, receiving, manufacturing, and warehouse teams. The Yard Material Handler is also responsible for performing daily safety inspections on yard equipment and maintaining compliance with all company safety and operational procedures.
This role requires strong situational awareness, safe equipment operation, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment while supporting operational efficiency and dock flow management.
  • Load product onto semi-trailers using powered material handling equipment (PMHE).
  • Transport goods between Aveda BMF and WW facilities.
  • Safely and efficiently operate the yard tractor (semi-truck), including completing daily safety inspections.
  • Spot and position trailers for BMF operations.
  • Safely operate designated lift truck equipment and perform required daily pre-use inspections.
  • Complete bin-to-bin inventory transfers using RF scanners and SAP transactions.
  • Move and transfer various types of inventory throughout the facility.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Refurbish and maintain pallets as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license required; Class A CDL preferred, not required.
  • Minimum of two years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Previous tractor-trailer, yard tractor, or trailer spotting experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate powered material handling equipment (PMHE), including forklifts and lift trucks.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Basic computer and RF scanner experience preferred.
  • SAP or warehouse management system experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Trucks and Trailers.
  • Experience using SAP and RF scanning equipment.
  • Forklift certification or previous powered industrial truck experience.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environments.
  • Familiarity with trailer spotting, dock operations, and inventory transfers between facilities.

Pay Range:
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $20.00 to $24.00. Exact hourly rate depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Hourly range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to hourly rate, this position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
