Job description

Join the MVT Team!!! Mesilla Valley Transportation is now hiring Trailer Technicians in El Paso, Texas!
The Trailer Technician I repairs and maintains trailers to ensure operational efficiency and compliance,
achieving recognition for key support within the team and promptly resolving issues as they arise under
management direction.
Schedule:
Tuesday-Saturday 3:30pm-12:00 am
Responsibilities:
• Inspects and repairs trailers to meet company/OEM standards.
• Performs DOT and general inspections to ensure compliance.
• Repairs or replaces tires following company guidelines for PSI, wear and tread depth.
• Conducts general fleet maintenance on trailers, including lights, air brakes, wheel ends,
suspension, and other repairs.
• Documents completed work, including 3Cs and notes, in company maintenance software.
• Inspects and cleans parts and submits orders for replacement parts when necessary.
• Confirms proper equipment function post-repair.
• Uses tools to minimize downtime and increase efficiency.
• Assists Trailer Supervisor with various tasks as required.
• Maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years or more years' experience in mechanic experience and/or training.
• Licensed Mechanic Journeyman preferred.
• Trailer Mechanic must be DOT certified.
Work Environment:
• Indoor and Outdoor environment.
• Employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions
including direct sunlight & heat.
• Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold and extreme heat.
• Employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic
or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
