Senior Fluidics Engineer

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering, with thesis material in experimental and/or theoretical Fluid Dynamics
At least 3 years industry experience, with medical device development preferred
Experienced in fluidics design for medical products, including selection of materials for chemical compatibility, and selection of OEM fluidics components with a strong emphasis on reliability
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrated proficiency in use of commercial CFD packages, 3D modeling tools, and 2D drawing creation (SolidWorks, Pro-E, ANSYS, etc.)
Familiarity with control of electromechanical devices, such as stepper motors, DC servo motor drives, pneumatic cylinders, pressure transducers, optical sensors, etc
Familiarity with machining and sheet metal processing. Experience in designing injection molding products is a plus
Strong analytical and experimental design skills as demonstrated in commercially realized designs
Experience with at least one complete instrument development cycle that led to commercialized product, from concept design to reliable production period
Experience in IVD medical device is a plus; Experience with debugging and testing is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on conveying technical information to non-subject matter experts
