HR Manager (Bilingual in Korean)

Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced, hands-on HR Manager to lead all aspects of human resources for our fast-paced, innovation-driven organization. As a key member of the leadership team, you will serve as the primary HR business partner, building a high-performance culture that attracts top talent in AI, venture capital, and technology while ensuring seamless operations in a multicultural, global environment. This is a generalist role ideal for someone who thrives in a small-company setting where you can own everything from talent acquisition to employee experience and compliance.


Key Responsibilities


  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Lead full-cycle recruiting for technical, investment, and business roles. Develop creative sourcing strategies to attract top AI, VC, and tech talent in Silicon Valley. Manage onboarding and new-hire orientation with a focus on cultural integration between U.S. and Korean teams.
  • Employee Relations & Culture: Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on performance, development, conflict resolution, and engagement. Foster an inclusive, collaborative workplace that bridges U.S. and Korean business practices.
  • HR Compliance & Policy: Ensure full compliance with federal, California, and local employment laws (EEO, FLSA, FMLA, CFRA, wage/hour, etc.). Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
  • Performance Management & Development: Design and manage performance review processes, talent development programs, and succession planning tailored to a high-growth venture environment.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Oversee competitive compensation benchmarking, benefits administration, and total rewards strategies. Partner with global HQ on international assignment and expatriate support as needed.
  • HR Operations & Analytics: Manage day-to-day HR operations, payroll coordination, HRIS systems, and people analytics to drive data-informed decisions.
  • DE&I and Global Collaboration: Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives while supporting smooth cross-border collaboration with SK Telecom headquarters in Korea.
  • Special Projects: Lead or support HR initiatives related to organizational growth, office expansion, or strategic investments.


Qualifications


  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters or HR certification a plus).
  • 6+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead role.
  • Strong working knowledge of California employment law and U.S. federal regulations.
  • Proven track record in talent acquisition for technology or venture capital/startup environments.
  • Experience supporting a multicultural or global workforce (Korean language proficiency is a strong plus).
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR, ADP, or similar) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification (Preferred)
  • Bilingual in English and Korean (highly desired due to global parent company).
