SAF Senior Piping Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to support our projects with process knowledge in utility systems such as material handling, biomass boilers, wastewater plants, power generation, steam turbines, and general utilities. The responsibilities will be to coordinate process mechanical engineering team activities on a project under the supervision of a senior-level project manager; engineering activities may include:
· Responsible for the quality, timeliness, and consistency of Piping deliverables as assigned by the project.
· Recognize and manage change in scope according to the project change management procedure.
· Perform administrative duties as needed for the process group such as scheduling coordination meeting, meeting minutes, etc. as required.
· Create piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) using CAD software.
· Develop line lists as required.
· Develop detailed layout drawings for piping systems.
· Develop detailed pipe and valve specifications.
· Coordinate with process technology suppliers for delivery of first-of-a-kind carbon reduction projects.
· Collaborate with engineers to determine project specifications.
· Ensure designs are in compliance with industry standards and codes.
· Perform calculations for pipe sizing and pressure drop.
· Create material takeoffs including heat trace, insulation, and all piping systems.
· Assist with procurement pricing of materials to support estimate development as required.
· Review and revise designs based on feedback from project managers and clients.
· Coordinate with other designers and drafters to ensure accuracy and consistency across all drawings.
· Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:Requirements/Qualifications:
Education: B.S. in Engineering with adequate experience.
Special Skills/Abilities:
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in piping design.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office such as Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Proficient in AspenTech software.
Working Conditions
This position routinely operates in a professional office environment with the potential for travel and on-site embedded time. Embedded time may include working environments such as factory floors where industrial machinery is present and in operation.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
