We have an opportunity for someone seeking an Automation Engineer position located in Valdosta, GA. Looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in either Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with at least 2 years of experience from a manufacturing or automation environment. Duties would include but are not limited to the planning, development, design, and coordination of advanced manufacturing practices. Must have an in-depth working knowledge of PLC programming and be familiar with LEAN Manufacturing principles. Essential Job Duties
- Brings all safety / environmental concerns to the attention of the Plant Manager and/or the appropriate department manager immediately.
- Works with other managers, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to create and maintain a safe work environment.
- Evaluate manufacturing and packaging processes to improve product quality, process efficiencies, and process reliability.
- Develop an automation strategy to support our business demands in an evolving labor market.
- Simulate, install, test, and manage electrical and mechanical automation.
- Lead the procurement, installation, programming, and database maintenance of automated equipment.
- Responsible for PLC programming, debugging, and optimization.
- Develop appropriate manufacturing process documentation for integration into the company’s quality system.
- Provide training to operators, maintenance, and managers on new or modified processes.
- Participate in implementing safety improvements.
- Assist in determining root cause and provide corrective action with customer product complaints.
- Participate in cost reduction projects.
- Assists with improvement of production processes through equipment evaluations, training, and implementation of new process such as bar-coding.

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, Information Technology, PLC and Database Management
