Job Description

Washington Mills is looking for an Electrician at its Niagara Falls, Ontario plant. The job will work directly with and report to the company’s Maintenance Supervisor. The Electrician is responsible to inspect, repair, install, and wire all electrical devices and circuits of any voltage in the plant or assigned area. You will be required to analyze electrical and related problems. The position requires a team orientated attitude and the ability to take instruction and perform related tasks. The position will require daily work to perform corrective and preventative maintenance on various equipment andmachinery throughout the plant.

Essential Functions

• Inspects machinery and equipment
• Services operating department requests
• Checks and maintains stock of minor electrical repair parts and notify supervision of possible shortages
• Adjusts switches and relays on various pieces of production equipment to establish proper operating parameters
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, plans, and lays out tasks
• Install, replace, and repair electrical controls and panel boxes
• Test and measure voltage, loads, and ground faults integrity of circuits
• Troubleshoot and isolate faults on electrical and mechanical systems and devices
• Conduct preventative maintenance programs
• Fabricates and assembles electrical devices and equipment as assigned by Supervision
• Adhere to all Company rules, Health and Safety regulations, and the Collective Labor Agreement

Required Skills

• Possess an Ontario Certificate of Qualification for Electrician.
• Experience in work related repair, install, and wiring all electrical devices and circuits.

Compensation/Benefits

· Position will be hourly at current contractual rate with overtime benefits

· Electricians rotate “on-call”, carrying a pager
