What We Are Looking For:

Power System Engineering, Inc. (PSE) is looking for a well-rounded individual to procure, manage, deploy, and support Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) projects. Projects may also include budget and financial projections, procurement process development and monitoring, system evaluation and technology recommendations, meter programming and setup, system deployment and milestone tracking, and other related tasks.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Ability to deliver complex concepts and solutions to various backgrounds within and outside the electric industry 
  • Ability to speak in front of large crowds on various AMI and electric utility topics 
  • Develop, manage, and complete request for proposals or bids on behalf of clients 
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on various technology and software systems 
  • Work with a diverse group and team of engineers, economists, technicians, and others, supporting the vision for the growth of the skills and projects in the practice area. 
  • Strong Client Support: Develop and maintain relationships with key existing clients working with the Utility Automation and Communications group today. These clients will be external and internal departments. 
  • Perform goal-specific analysis on large sets of information. 
  • Project Management: Work with PSE project coordinators and engineers to manage projects being worked on to stay on task and provide project deliverables on time. 
  • Technical Practice Area Development: Work with current and other PSE departments to constantly improve and enhance our ability to produce high-quality services and deliverables. 
  • Solve problems, innovate solutions, engineer, and construct new ways of thinking about old issues. 
  • Provide support, guidance, and process controls for the deployment of AMI systems 
  • Track, manage, and complete milestones based on the contracting scope of work and negotiated tasks 
  • Lead AMI implementation teams from various organizations and backgrounds to complete all project goals and milestones 
  • Lead and develop AMI system acceptance testing procedures 
  • Provide recommendations for meter profile configurations, read rates, and upgrades and have a working knowledge of electric meter programming software 
  • Provide guidance and training on various AMI systems and software 
  • Create reports and recommendations for project deliverables 
  • Collaborate with team members to evaluate and process AMI vendor differences 
  • Work as part of a team and individually to meet project goals, timelines, and deliverables 
  • Other jobs and tasks as needed 
  • Travel: This position may travel 1-2 times a month or more to meet with clients or attend conferences—travel as required. 


What You Will Need:


Education and Experience

  • Must have a combination of education and experience totaling 10+ years of relevant experience. Experience should include managing large projects, troubleshooting, integrations, AMI deployment and system maintenance, proposal experience, and building and maintaining customer/client relationships.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Office365
