Position Summary: Performs maintenance on all customers’ aircraft and engine accessories following company policies, SOPs and Repair Station Manual.

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation).

  • Properly disassembles units according to the overhaul manual; using the correct tooling equipment required and follows appropriate aviation procedures/practices.
  • Performs maintenance on aircraft and engine accessories following company policies, SOPs and Repair Station Manual.
  • Acquires information from production boards, reports, and any other additional information given by the manager and/or lead for daily/weekly production goals.
  • Locates the accessory work order from the assigned production rack
  • Properly logs into ETS using the correct operation code
  • Reviews work scopes as directed by Sales upon induction
  • Locates the correct manual and tooling equipment to complete the evaluation
  • Reviews and interprets the overhaul manual (OHM) to accurately diagnose the defect listed identified by Sales or adhere to the correct engine work scope.
  • Completes preliminary inspection: bench test unit to confirm Sales Report as well as inspecting for any incoming damages or numerical errors (part/serial numbers, descriptions, status etc.)
  • Visually inspects piece parts for any defects listed by the overhaul manual and/or any aviation standard practice.
  • Measures any item indicated by the inspection section using micrometers, calipers and/or any other approved measuring equipment.
  • Assigns the correct routing for any rework item by completing the required IW in accordance with the company procedures/standards.
  • Accurately logs inspection reports into company-specific software and completes the unit’s evaluation
  • Completes any final calibrations/testing required per the overhaul manual with the Accessory Shop Quality Inspector.
  • Ensures all piece parts, paperwork, and tags are properly identified and completed for final inspection
  • Properly preserves the unit in accordance with the overhaul manual or standard aviation practices
  • Ensures units are properly mounted on shipping boards if required
  • Ensures caps, plugs, covers, and tags (e.g. WARNING and CAUTION tags) are properly installed before shipping
  • Maintains a clean workstation free from Foreign Object and/or Debris (FOD), ensures tooling is properly stored
  • Maintains a clean/safe workspace free from spills or obstructions which may lead to harm
  • Confers with manager/lead to recommend changes such as equipment utilization, production methods, and procedures to increase efficiency of department.
  • Attends all required training
  • Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
  • Works overtime as needed
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal protection equipment (PPE) policies (e.g. safety glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)
  • Travels as required
  • Other duties as required

  • Must be able to apply common sense
  • Must be able to effectively read, write, speak and understand English language
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel and the ability to learn other company specific software
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphs.
  • Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE as required
  • Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses
  • Must be able to effectively hear running machinery
  • Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively
  • Must have exceptional eye-hand coordination
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally
  • Must regularly be able to reach overhead
  • Must regularly be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, stoop, kneel, twist and stand
  • Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally
  • Must have knowledge of precision measuring tools/equipment (dimensional and electrical)
  • Ability to be regular and predictable in attendance.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts, including but not limited to nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Must strive to continuously develop skills and pursue training opportunities as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

At least 18 years of age or older, High School Diploma or GED required. 1 year of professional mechanical work experience or completion of Aviation School required, 1 year of professional mechanical aviation experience preferred. 3 years of experience performing maintenance on components in an MRO environment preferred

A&P license or FAA Power Plant Rating preferred. In lieu of holding an A&P or P license, one must be able to obtain a Repairman Certificate by satisfying the requirements as called out in the FAR. Previous 54H60 propeller experience preferred.

Must pass a criminal background check, DOT-FAA pre-employment drug screen, and possibly a physical and comply with all applicable FAA-required testing regulations. Position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations and as such, position is subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulations. Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions.

Work Conditions:

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise is generally loud.
