This role is vital to the daily operations of our shop, providing essential support to ensure efficient production and the maintenance of quality standards. Ideal candidates will be proactive, have a strong work ethic, and a keen interest in metalworking and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
•Assist shop staff in setting up and operating metal fabrication machines such as press brakes, shears, saws, and welders.
•Help in the handling of materials and tools, preparing items for machining, and ensuring that supplies are readily available.
•Perform routine maintenance checks on machines and equipment to ensure optimal operation.
•Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop environment to adhere to safety standards.
•Assist with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and organizing shop materials.
•Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures for all work assignments.
•Participate in quality control, ensuring that the final products meet company standards and customer satisfaction.
•Report any issues with machinery or product quality to the supervisor promptly.
•Support the team in achieving production targets and deadlines.
Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or GED required.
•Experience with CNC machines, preferably with CNC Press Brake.
•Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
•Basic computer skills to navigate network-based systems.
•Vocational school degree or certificate in a related field preferred.
•Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
•Prior experience in industrial machine operation, especially in steel manufacturing or sheet metal work.
Physical Demands:
•Engage in repetitive activities.
•Sit, stand, walk, push, pull, kneel, bend, and reach during the workday.
•Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds.
Working Environment:
· Work in an environment with high noise levels near operating machines.
· Be aware of physical hazards near moving equipment and mechanical parts.
