Job Description

Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst for our client located in Montgomery, AL.

This position is onsite in Montgomery, AL and requires in-person availability starting day 1. 

Job Overview:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance/Quality Control Analyst who has experience in testing large scale software solutions to support the transition of the web-hosted professional development registry (PDR) from John Hopkins to our client and to work on projects of moderate to high complexity for the transferred PDR system.
  • The incumbent will also work on projects for other applications developed using MS Power Apps and support the implementation of a Performance Testing program for various client applications.
  • Perform manual and automated testing of applications, create, and maintain test data, and document test results to ensure that systems meet technical and functional requirements.
  • Perform volume, load, and stress testing of applications to identify bottlenecks and ensure that systems meet performance standards. 
  • Review methodology documentation for accuracy, completeness, and quality so that new systems and changes to existing systems are completed accurately and in accordance with defined standards.
  • Design, develop, and document test plans and test scripts so that accurate test documentation exists for all assigned applications.
  • Work closely with all levels of the client, Vendor and Partner Agency staff to share information and provide support so that system integrity is maintained, risk factors to applications are addressed, and users are able to perform their testing activities in a controlled test environment.
  • Provide and model positive, professional, and courteous customer service to client employees, other agencies, vendors, contractors, and the general public by sharing job knowledge and responding to requests for information/service in a timely, efficient, competent manner.
  • Communicate, both orally and in writing, with Division staff, supervisors, County/Division Directors, department employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public so that correct information is provided in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience conducting manual and automated testing of large, complex web-based applications, including Functional Testing, Integration Testing, Load Testing, Stress Testing, Performance Testing and Regression Testing
  • 5+ years of experience testing projects developed using agile/scrum and waterfall methodologies
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing Functional and Technical Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience participating in code and design walkthroughs
  • 5+ years of experience with Test Management
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing requirements and design documents to design, create, and implement Test Plans, Test Strategies, and Test Scripts
  • 5+ years of experience partnering with technical team members and other project stakeholders to develop Test Cases, Test Scripts and Test Scenarios
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing test results
  • 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining test documentation and test reports 
  • 5+ years of experience with defect reporting, triage, and tracking
  • 5+ years of experience with writing, debugging, and executing SQL for verification and validation
  • 5+ years of experience developing and executing automated tests with an industry-standard automated testing tool
  • 5+ years of experience developing and executing performance tests with an industry-standard performance testing tool
  • 5+ years of experience following formal Configuration Management procedures

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in testing web-based applications (Or) High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in testing web-based applications

Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science.
