IT Security Specialist

GAMA-1 Technologies is seeking an IT Security Specialist to support the IT Lead and the IT security office within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).  This position will support several important activities within the enterprise including System Administration, Security Incident Management, Risk Management, Data Call Management, Security Policies, Security Training and Documentation.  

This is a Hybrid position with One Day Per Week Remote.

Activities include but are not limited to the following:

• Support system implementation, integration, and maintenance and operations, including the investigation of complex technical problems.
• Familiarity with IT operations tools (e.g., Ansible, IBM Big Fix, McAfee ePO, etc.). 
• Working knowledge of operating security tools (e.g., Tenable Security Center, ArcSight, Advanced Intrusion Detection Environment (AIDE), etc.)
• Knowledge of and comprehensive understanding of NIST guidance to include, but not limited to, NIST Special Publications and Federal Information Processing Standards.
• Knowledge of assessing information/information security risk following DOC, NOAA, and NASA Policies, FIPS and NIST Special Publications guidelines. 
• Working knowledge of systems administration, network management, security systems operations (e.g., firewalls, antivirus, IDS/IPS), configuration management standards and baselines, and change control management.
• Demonstrated experience developing security policies and procedures.

Experience & Education Requirements

• BS or higher in a Computer Science, Technology, or related field.
• 3-5 Years Hands on work experience in the same or equivalent field.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ansible
• Familiar with NIST Risk Management Framework and related NIST publications.
• Excellent written, verbal, and analytical problem-solving skills in working with technical and non-technical people and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships among all levels of an organization.
• Requires good interpersonal, problem solving, and issue resolution skills. 
• Maturity and communications skills to interface with other security professionals.
• Linux and/or security certification is preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
