RN - Operating Room

Location: Elkton, MD

Freestanding Ambulatory Surgery Center seeking a Registered Nurse to work in the Operating Room and Minor Procedure Room, with some cross training to Pre-Op and PACU. Minimum 2 years experience as an Operating Room Nurse.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the patient advocate and assure that quality care is administered
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patients’ care during their surgical experience
• Be accountable for safety, identifies and corrects problems, and integrates evidence, and best practice into nursing care
• Ensure the Operating Room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment that may be needed during the procedure
• Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and set up in preparation for next case
• Effective communication with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care
• Maintains accurate complete documentation on the operative record
• Provide support to Pre-Op and PACU team when needed

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse with minimum of 2 years experience with in-depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures
• Current RN license in Maryland or Multi-State
• ACLS and BLS Certification
• CNOR preferred
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Critical thinker and problem solver
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
