The Opportunity:

West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Trades Specialist Lead.  The Trades Specialist Lead position provides a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, alteration, and repair of institutional facilities.  This position also serves as lead to all other trades specialists employed by the University.

Essential Functions of the position:

• Performs a variety of tasks that require the ability to inspect, repair, fabricate, install, service, and maintain building facilities and building equipment.
• Leads a crew on projects outside the work order system.
• Research, draws, blueprints, plans, and builds comprehensive material lists for projects.
• Responds to emergency calls to troubleshoot and make building repairs.
• Performs a variety of plumbing repairs and maintenance.
• Assist other trades specialists with knowledge and direction every day.
• Performs carpentry & plumbing work as needed

Education & Experience Requirements: 

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Trades school or relevant experience in the field of carpentry/plumbing is required.

Skills/Abilities: 

• Journeyman level advanced carpentry and plumbing skills
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to lead and manage a team
