Automotive Technician

Job Description:

• Assist and observe lead technicians with test cell installations, repairs, and modifications
• Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisor, project leader, and lead technicians
• Perform welding tasks (Tig, Mig, Stick all used)
• Engage in fabrication work
• Conduct plumbing tasks
• Perform electrical tasks (under 24 volts)
• Undertake automotive mechanic's work
• Use a computer for testing
• Operate test cell dynos, emissions equipment, and data acquisition system (training provided)
• Provide their own set of mechanics tools

Requirements: 

• Hs Diploma/Equivalent
• 2 years' experience in automotive industry required
• 0 years' experience with vocational degree in automotive or fabrication field
• Basic skills and knowledge of hand tools, power tools, automotive principles, equipment, processes and materials in the automotive field
• Familiarity with plumbing, fabrication, and welding a plus
• Ability to interpret and work from verbal and written instructions
• knowledge of safety rules and procedures and ability to follow them
• Basic computer skills
• Must be willing to lean new tasks that involve necessary job duties
• Must be reliable and flexible with schedule, willing to work shift work, weekends, or overtime when project required
