The Country Club of Detroit Agronomy team is seeking enthusiastic, hardworking team members for Golf Course Groundskeeper Positions for the 2024 season. We have positions available from March through late November.

The Country Club of Detroit is a private social, golf & country club located in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, overlooking Lake St. Clair. Established in 1897, it offers various amenities including golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, dining facilities, and social events. It has a rich history and is known for its elegant atmosphere and exclusive membership.

The CCD Greens and Grounds Team seeks to provide an outstanding golf experience for membership by producing premier playing conditions on our championship golf course. We utilize dedication to excellence and teamwork daily to achieve this goal together.

Key facets for success in the role are to acclimate to the work schedule, pace of work, routing of the golf course, and be open to learning learn exciting new tasks on highly specialized equipment.

Job Description

• Two work shift options are available and punctuality in arriving on time prepared for work is imperative.
• Red Team: Sunday - Thursday (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) *Overtime available
• Blue Team: Tuesday - Saturday (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) *Overtime available
• We also have part-time positions available - 6:00 AM - 10:00/11:00 AM Daily.
• Eager to learn new skills and equipment operation practices e.g. walk and ride mowers, tractors and tractor driven equipment. We will train the right candidate!
• Enjoy being outdoors. Our work requires us to be outside in various weather conditions (sunshine or rain).
• Knowledge of the game of golf is a plus but not required.
• Service-oriented mentality and a positive attitude. Enjoy seeing the fruits of your labor!
• Background check required prior to hire.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. periodically. 
• No prior experience required.

Daily Job Responsibilities

• Walk and machine ride mowing of golf course greens, tees, fairways, and rough playing surfaces.
• Bunker raking using both hand and machine rakes.
• Golf course construction projects: Irrigation repair and installation, drainage installation, bunker construction, seeding of turf.
• Landscape construction; Irrigation repair and maintenance, sod installation, and plant material installation.
• Clubhouse lawn care and landscaping responsibilities include; zero turn ride-on mowing, push mowing, string trimming, bed and mechanical edging, mulching, and pruning.

Compensation/Benefits

• $15.00-$18.00+ DOE
• Overtime pay (time & a half) after 40 hours (Paid weekly-every Friday).
• Lunch provided during work hours.
• Uniforms and all necessary safety equipment are provided.
• Rain gear is also provided in case of working during some rain.
• Golfing Privileges + Discounted merchandise in Pro Shop.

Salary: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
