Title: Senior Clinical Nurse- Operating Room

Responsibilities:

• Functions as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff; greeting them promptly and courteously.
• Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards and Hospital policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
• Assumes relief charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
• Coordinates team assignments and adjusts based upon patient and unit needs; follow up on delegated patient care tasks for quality and completeness.
• Maintains professional currency by attending seminars, scheduled depm1mental meetings and outside educational offerings.
• Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and hospital policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
• Performs related tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Interacts with patients requiring surgical intervention and their families/significant others when providing direct patient care and patient education.
• Works cooperatively with all physicians utilizing the facility.
• Promotes positive relations with physicians and their office staff.
• Demonstrates ability to work as a team member and to communicate directly and professionally. Is flexible, reliable, productive, patient-oriented, and self-motivated.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

• ACLS Required
• BLS Required
• Vaccination Card Required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as Senior Clinical Nurse
