About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a Parcel Meter Operator – First Shift, to work in the Blairs, Virginia warehouse. The Parcel Meter Operator meters, loads and stacks parcel orders on the parcel truck for the assigned department.

Responsibilities

• Supports assigned department. Examples of some duties are as follows:
• Maintains conveyor operation that is used to transport metered cartons to the parcel truck.
• Loads the parcel truck by hand as the loading conveyor feeds the parcel truck form the parcel metering stations.
• Maintains copies of orders shipped. Maintains return to stock and floor reports.
• Communicates conveyor issues to maintenance
• Verifies accuracy on meter labels
• Verifies print quality of all labels
• Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others, and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
• A commitment to company wide quality and safety is required.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with management and co-workers in order to meet departmental goals.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast paced distribution environment
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions; perform basic math
• Strong typing and advanced computer skills – Proficient on MS Office Products
• Ability to maintain strong attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofreading materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to multi-task and follow through on action items
• Ability to work independently with little direction
• High school diploma or GED required
• Three months prior experience and/or training in the distribution/manufacturing environment preferred
