Arlington International Aviation Products, LLC. is a full-line distributor that specializes in delivering quality aerospace and aircraft hardware to OEM's and major subcontractors around the world. Our customer list includes manufacturers of commercial and business aircraft, military aircraft, military products, and space applications.

The Manager, Purchasing - Hardware is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of FDH Aero’s operational requirements at Calco Aerospace. This individual will work closely with business and commercial leaders at Calco Aeropace and the hardware supply chain leaders at FDH to deliver a world-class aerospace distribution fulfillment capability to its customers. The focus of this role is to maximize the company gross margins, and advantage the business through better sourcing/costing and assist with inventory management to maximize return on investment and meet customer and company requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and validate purchase order (PO) requests for accuracy and adherence to purchasing policies
  • Oversee procurement transactions (PO’s) on the open order book and order queue
  • Responsible for assigning purchasing tasks across the team. Monitor and forecast the transactional demand and our ability to support those transactions in a timely manner
  • Maintain fluency of the purchasing business process, including the use of technology, tools, documentation, and controls to execute transactions
  • Evaluate and execute opportunities to improve our performance against PO’s (through improved cost / unit or lead-times)
  • Supports the business through expedited orders to support customer deadlines/internal delivery requirements
  • Partner with sales teams and suppliers to negotiate long-term agreements (LTA’s), strategic sourcing agreements, and other tactics to drive down cost, lead-time and improve strategic supplier relationships
  • Evaluate and optimize inventory on-order (VOO) including but not limited to late orders, VOO receipts, and push/pull/cancel reports to ensure our VOO is optimized
  • Analyze business process and identify potential efficiency improvements and cost-savings
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture that questions status quo, and inspires the team to improve
  • Strong team manager. Recruit, train and onboard new purchasing team members. Mentor and coach all team members to perform to the best of their ability.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement best-in-class operational processes, technologies, and tools
  • Work with senior leadership to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the success of the company's operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain management roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field
  • MS/NAS Hardware knowledge or Aerospace Fastener knowledge
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in quoting, sourcing, managing supplier relationships and transactional volume
  • Prior knowledge of the aerospace industry, with emphasis on key aerospace hardware commodities, products and suppliers
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, engage and drive performance across the purchasing staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross functional teams within the SCM and business leaders, and with customers and suppliers
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and develop effective solutions
  • Ability to work on-site at Calco Aerospace in Ft Worth, TX on a regular basis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with technology ERP systems; experience with aerospace ERP systems such as Pentagon and Quantum a plus
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry quality compliance requirements, including AS9120, ASA100
