Quality Control Technician- Roofing

Quality control Inspection technicians are responsible for testing materials and finished products to ensure they conform to all applicable building codes and company standards as well as responding to and inspecting previously completed projects at the request of the client. They will use a wide array of inspection techniques such as water tests, crawling inside of attics, thermal imaging, and visual inspections. Quality control technicians test products across the three stages of production (before, in-process, and final) to ensure quality levels are met. Quality control Inspection technicians work on a variety of Roofs, including shingle, tile, metal, single ply flat, modified bitumen, & liquid applied waterproofing. 

This is an entry-level position and you do not need to have a formal education, but most have a high school diploma or equivalent. We will provide you all of the OJT (on the job training) required.

Responsibilities 

• Embody our cultural cornerstones
• Deliver CitySide Roofing professional customer service to all homeowners/builders.
• Build relationships daily with homeowners, builders trade partners, vendors, and warranty / QC team members.
• Answer incoming warranty calls with proper documentation.
• Responsible for completion of all warranty repair work performed in the home that you are assigned to.
• Inspect all work for quality and completion, and have the home owner sign off on your work order.
• Use the computer systems and technologies provided to maintain your work order schedule.
• Know and adhere to all standards set forth in the CitySide Roofing warranties as well as the manufacture warranty guidelines.
• Complete inspection reports
• Ensure compliance to state building code, as well as company standards and specifications
• Maintain calibration of quality control equipment
• Perform inspections across all stages of of production
• Prepare and maintain test data for review
• Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards
• Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly
• Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency

Qualifications

• Comfortable walking on a roof
• Ability to use and carry extension ladders 
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Solid understanding of roofing systems (we will train you on this)
• Clean & Valid Florida drivers license
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information
• Ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, reach, push and pull for long periods of time
