AUTHORIZATION SPECIALIST

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Eligibility Specialist. As an Eligibility Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely eligibility determinations for our clients. This position requires knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and HIPAA regulations.

Duties:
- Review and verify patient information to determine eligibility for various healthcare programs
- Collect and analyze necessary documentation to support eligibility determinations
- Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to gather required information
- Enter data into electronic systems accurately and efficiently
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Stay up-to-date on changes in eligibility requirements and managed care policies
- Collaborate with other team members to resolve eligibility issues and ensure smooth operations

Experience:
- Previous experience working in an office setting, preferably in a medical or dental office
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and medical records
- Knowledge of managed care programs and eligibility guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working with large volumes of data
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems
