Executive Program Manager

Location: Remote (But travel will be required to Charlotte, a couple location in Georgia, Chicago and Ashburn, VA)

Duration: 12 Months

Note: This is an 80 million dollar program. This is a consolidating/migration for 8 data centers down to 2. They MUST has many years of experience in enterprise/large DC experience. Experience with cloud AWS and Azure is must. There are 500 application and 1200 to 1300 servers.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Program Manager to lead our enterprise-level data center consolidation and migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex programs/projects within large organizations, specifically in the realm of data center consolidation and migration. In addition, expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for consolidating and migrating data centers across the organization.
  • Project Management: Lead end-to-end project management activities, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, budget management, risk assessment, and issue resolution.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure alignment of goals, priorities, and expectations throughout the consolidation and migration processes.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with third-party vendors and service providers involved in data center consolidation and migration projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and contractual agreements.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize deep technical understanding of data center infrastructure, virtualization technologies, networking, and cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) to inform decision-making and drive successful outcomes.
  • Change Management: Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions and minimize disruptions during the consolidation and migration of data centers.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the integrity, security, and reliability of data and applications throughout the consolidation and migration processes.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the progress, challenges, and achievements of data center consolidation and migration projects. Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (minimum 7 years) in executive-level program management roles, with a focus on data center consolidation and migration projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing infrastructure and services.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices, standards, and compliance requirements related to data center consolidation, migration, and cloud computing.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
