Lead Electronic Technician

Electronic Technician Job Summary:
Reporting to the Electronic Test Manager, this first shift position entails providing leadership to the Test Department staff and supporting engineering activities, including design, testing, and check-out procedures. The role involves conducting routine engineering tests, detailed experimental testing, updating software and firmware, and maintaining and enhancing test procedures.
Electronic Technician Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and leadership to the Test Department team, ensuring schedule demands are met, resolve technical problems efficiently, and staff receive necessary training.
- Monitor production orders and provide feedback for performance reviews and other performance actions.
- Support engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, and assembly of prototypes and manufacturing of specialized test equipment.
- Conduct calibration checks on electronic instruments and troubleshoot electronic systems to identify and resolve malfunctions.
- Perform soldering, re-soldering, and re-flowing of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) components.
- Write and update test procedures, and update software and firmware as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Electronics or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an electronic technician, testing and troubleshooting PCBs to the component level.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting failed circuits to sub-assembly and/or component level in analog and mixed-signal systems.
- Knowledge of oscilloscopes, DVMs, spectrum analyzers, and other test equipment.
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, teamwork, and written and verbal communication skills.
