Product Specialist

Decree is seeking a Product Specialist who understands the importance of detail and beauty when discussing luxury gifts and stationery items. The Product Specialist will report to both Co-Founders, Robert Buhler and Ryan Dart for supervision. We’re searching for a candidate who is a proven, hardworking, with a strong attention to detail to ensure the finest customer experience. Since we craft all of our letterpress and engraved stationery on-site, it will be important for the person to understand the printing techniques on machines from the turn of the century. The product Specialist will work in our 6,000 sq ft. store in downtown Raleigh and aid customers in buying fine gifts and cards. In this role, you’ll explain luxury products to customers, aid in the sales effort, handle transactions and help with inventory management. You’ll also engage in the strategic ideation of innovative retail techniques, inspire and refine new ideas for products and workflows.

Responsibilities include:

· Ensure all customers feel welcomed and attended to in our luxury store

· Learn engraving, letterpress and platemaking techniques to aid in explanation

· Learn the heralded history of all of our retail products -from Smythson to Montegrappa and be able to clearly communicate the value to customers

· Handle transactions within our POS system and enter customer names, inventory and other items into our database

· Work with select clientele to offer them concierge level gifts that are bespoke

· Recommend our other business services such as custom stationery and evening classes to certain clientele

· Aid in packaging and shipping cards and other items to clients

· As need allows, assist in customer relations

· Create an inventory workflow to maximize efficiencies

· Lend ideas on further processes such as store design and other items

· Asist in ensuring our retail store at 135 E. Martin St. Raleigh, NC is in pristine condition

Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Founders.

Requirements:

· Must be able to communicate clearly and feel comfortable talking to customers

· Consummate experience in a related field

· Retail experience or restaurant duties is a plus

· People management know-how and a great attitude with a can-do spirit

· Arrive to work on time

· Present one’s self with the attitudes and standards of Decree
