POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Process Optimization Specialist will execute on the strategies and initiatives to enhance business and operational efficiency by leading Lean Six Sigma projects to achieve targeted outcomes. The Process Optimization Specialist is a key component in the drive to develop an organizational mindset and culture for continuous improvement and performance excellence.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Take ownership of process optimization projects from inception to completion.

2. Participate and collaborate on various projects in the capacity of LSS Greenbelt lending skills and expertise to the project team.

3. Support the development and validation of new capacity and processes.

4. Demonstrate project management proficiency by defining project requirements and project milestones, tracking progress, resolving problems, communicating progress, and recommending / executing actions.

5. Collaborate with organizational leadership to identify areas of process improvement and recommends solutions through the lens of lean thinking.

6. Establish process key performance indicators and provide support in the development of performance reports/dashboards.

7. Assist leadership to advocate a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence throughout the organization.

8.Perform additional duties and functions as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

1. Ability to Gemba work process, identifying process wastes and improvement opportunities and develop a compelling proposal and effectively lead LSS projects.

2. Effectively utilize DMAIC methodology to ensure the completeness of projects.

3. Ability to effectively analyze a problem and assess root causes.

4. Must be able to identify data that is applicable to the problem and conduct a thorough quantitative analysis of the data to support root causes.

5. Proficient at utilizing functions within excel to manipulate and analyze data, any other data analysis tools such as Minitab is a plus.

6. Able to lead multiple projects simultaneously and meet target dates.

7. Proficient and comfortable in leading cross-functional teams in the implementation of Lean Six Sigma projects.

8. Effective at communicating and presenting projects and outcomes to senior leaderships and stakeholders.

9. Ability to go outside conventional thinking, to look beyond the obvious or traditional solutions, push boundaries, and challenge the status quo to come up with ingenious ideas.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Informatics, Statistics, Healthcare Management, or related disciplines. Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Mostly sedentary work with light, physical activities.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Normal work hours for this position are Monday through Friday dayshift.
