Peer Support Specialist Employment Works SO (PT/FT)

PURPOSE OF POSITION: (MISSION VIEJO,CA)
To provide supervision, training and support to program participants with persistent mental illness, volunteering and or working in community businesses and at other volunteer sites. This position is responsible for assisting program participants in career development; helping ensure integrated employment outcomes; ensuring the quality of work at volunteer job sites; and completing required program documentation. SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Reports directly to the HCA/Volunteer to Work Program Manager.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: High school or GED required; some college coursework in human services or related area preferred. A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience. Must have lived or had personal experience working with people that have mental illness. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Effective grammar, English and writing skills. PC Proficiency in MS Office. Complete Health Care Agency Consumer/Family Member Vocational Training Program. Reliable transportation, valid California driver's license, liability insurance, and a DMV record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company.
OTHER: Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with program participant information.
WORK DEVICES/MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT USED: Various office supplies and equipment including: telephone, fax machine, adding machine, computer, printer, copy machine, file cabinets, papers/forms, calendar, pens/pencils, ruler, scissors, etc.
