Your Opportunity

We are looking for an entry-level Project Engineer or Geologist/Scientist to join our team in Wyoming, preferably in Casper or Laramie. This position will play a pivotal role in the design, oversight, and monitoring of environmental remediation and reclamation projects in Wyoming with the opportunity to support interdisciplinary sustainable development work across our organization. 50% of this role will be dedicated to conducting field work and traveling. 

In this role we will count on you to:
  • Provide project support on multi-disciplinary, complex project teams, including assistance with Remedial Investigation / Feasibility Studies (RI/FS) and Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Conduct on-site environmental monitoring, sampling, and data collection, including environmental drilling investigations and groundwater sampling; coordinate with analytical laboratories for sample analysis.
  • Monitor and calibrate on-site equipment (i.e., YSI multi-meters for pH, dissolved oxygen, specific conductivity, turbidity, and temperature).
  • Offer construction oversight and documentation for projects in Wyoming and Montana.
  • Manage field data and perform statistical analyses using software such as Microsoft Excel, R, Statistica, Minitab)
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants or partners to complete permitting for field investigations.
Other duties you will be responsible for:
  • Assistance with business development activities such as client relations, marketing pursuits, and project proposals.
  • Maintaining an active role and visibility within professional associations and organizations at local, regional, and national levels

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Experience, & Licensure/Certifications

  • 1+ year of cumulative professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably civil or environmental), construction engineering technology, environmental science, geology, or hydrogeology
  • Experience preparing design plans, construction specifications and construction cost estimates
  • Familiarity with construction oversight and planning
  • Familiarity with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)
  • Experience with environmental reclamation/remediation, and environmental sampling and monitoring
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Residency in Wyoming or readiness to establish residency within six months
  • Ability to travel and work in the field approximately 50% of the time

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Active collaborator and team-builder with the capacity to work with staff from diverse technical disciplines
  • Familiarity with and dedication to health and safety practices while working in the field
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to use and calibrate field meters, mobile GPS units, and groundwater sampling equipment
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil3D and GIS products
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with WY AML Vegetation and Evaluation Standards (WAVES) and plant identification

  • This position is salaried and exempt from overtime. The annual salary ranges are:
    • Engineer I: $66,100 - $85,700
    • Scientist I: $57,700 - $77,400
    • Salary is determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to years of experience, type/relevance of experience, skillset, and fit for the role.
