Job Description

- Experienced operating various machinery, tools and equipment

- Complete and document production activities
- Ensure products are manufactured, handled, stored, packaged and delivered in accordance with documented procedures
- Proper labeling and subsequent disposal, package finish products into holding tanks, 250 gal/350 gal totes, 55 gal drums, 5 gal containers, or bulk, wagon, railcar.
- Complete routine checks of plant equipment and report any abnormalities to shift supervisor
- Complete daily inspections and daily checks including; sampling, data logs, inspections
- Follow all the plant Environmental, Safety, Health and Quality (ESHQ) policies
- Complete minor maintenance and prepare process equipment for major maintenance
- Calibrate weighing scale and Automated Drumming System/ Tote Fill Station
- Complete in-process quality control lab tests
- Engage in daily housekeeping activities; maintain good housekeeping practices
- Participate in the plant ISO9001/14001 programs, development of procedures and process related documentation
- Participate in Improvement Teams
- Assist in training new operators
- Ensure that all changes to the process, product, equipment, or operating procedures are completed in the controlled manner outlined in the change management procedures.
- Ensure that the material produced meets final product specifications and that the production stays on schedule
- Work in a team environment and interact with other departments to resolve problems
- Look for ways to reduce production cost, eliminate bottlenecks, improve capacity, and improve quality
- Worked with hazardous materials/ trained to work in confine spaces
- HAZCOM/HAZWOPER/ Air respirator & SCBA Fit Testing
- Safely handled corrosive, flammable, and toxic chemicals by using required PPE
- Safely loaded/unloaded chemicals and visually inspect the railcars/trucks to ensure there is no defective equipment
- Maintained daily logs including: log times, volumes, temperature and pressures on all manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of reactors, pumps, dryers, agitators, tanks, vacuum pumps, heat exchanges, various chemical process equipment, and acids/bases (e.g. nitric/hydrofluoric/acetic)
- Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards
- Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced; discuss results with those responsible for products
- Take product samples in between process and run the test for laboratory testing; report data
- Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
- Accept or reject finished items: remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications
- Provide on-call coverage due to PTO, training, weekend work, etc.
