Occupational Orthopedics, LLC is an orthopedic surgical practice exclusively serving workers from Oregon and SW Washington. We bring best in class orthopedic care to patients injured while on the job. We are actively seeking a full time Physician Assistant, preferably with surgical assist experience, to join our practice. This position offers the opportunity to provide care for patients with a variety of orthopedic injuries and needs while at the same time, enjoying a 4-day work week with no weekends or holidays. Most surgical cases are performed in a world class ambulatory surgery center and we do not have ED call or inpatient rounding.
Responsibilities:
Evaluation and Management of patients referred for orthopedic related diagnosis
Perform history and physical examinations for patients in the outpatient setting
Follow patient treatment protocols for conservative case management as directed by surgeon
Review and discuss results of medical imaging and laboratory studies with attending physician and patients as appropriate
First assist for surgical cases
Respond to a very low volume of patient calls after hours and on weekends as needed
Provide patient management including pre- and post-operative visits, wound checks, and injections in clinic
Document patient information and care in electronic medical records
Educate patients and families regarding treatment
Collaborate with all members of the health care team
Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program
Current OR license
Experience in Orthopedics preferred but not required
