Outpatient Mental Health Counselor

Walgren Counseling PLLC is seeking an experienced and compassionate Outpatient Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Matthews, North Carolina. As an Outpatient Mental Health Counselor, you will provide essential counseling services to clients in our clinic, both in person and virtually, utilizing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the mental health and well-being of our patients, while working closely with our professional support team and on-staff clinical directors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques
• Monitor and evaluate the progress of clients through ongoing assessments and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure coordinated and holistic care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and participate in case conferences and clinical meetings
• Stay current with relevant research and best practices in the field of mental health counseling
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards set by the counseling profession and regulatory agencies

• Master's degree in Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution
• Valid license or provisional license in mental health counseling or a related discipline
• Minimum of 2 years of experience providing counseling services in an outpatient setting
• Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments and developing treatment plans
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and treatment modalities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients and collaborate with the treatment team
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation practices.
