Manager – Audit

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate, organize, and schedule projects to ensure all deadlines are met

• Direct and support team activities by promoting an enjoyable work environment and motivating high performance
• Provide timely project-specific feedback to ensure staff learning and development
• Delegate audit assignments in a manner that maximizes direct reports’ opportunities to earn production-based incentive compensation
• Review complete set of financial statements and related disclosures to ensure conformity with applicable reporting requirements
• Review work papers to ensure that compliance with auditing standards and the firm’s quality control standards
• Research accounting issues and provide solutions
• Properly plan, lead, and manage engagements to ensure timely completion
• Become an expert within assigned industry or subject matter niche
• Maintain CPA license through adequate Continuing Professional Education (CPE) units
• Assist in special projects assigned by partners
• Develop new client contacts and relationships that are beneficial to the firm
• Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients

Minimum Qualifications

• CPA certification required
• Minimum 5 years professional auditing experience, with at least 3 years as a senior associate or higher
• Valid authorization to work in the United States of America
• Ability to report primarily to the firm’s Lufkin, TX office and provide own transportation as needed to meet clients on their premises.
• Ability to accommodate minimal overnight travel (<25% annually)
• Desire to train, coach, and mentor

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the areas of accounting, financial reporting, or internal or external audit within one of the following industries: financial institutions, electric utility cooperatives, construction contractors

Compensation and Benefits

• Base compensation starting at $90,000, increasing with level of education, experience, and relevant credentials
