Tyndale is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst II (QA Analyst II) to join our team! The QA Analyst II assumes a more advanced role in the quality assurance process, taking on a leadership role in the development and execution of test plans, test scripts, and process plans for projects. In addition to providing critical support in validating test cases based on business requirements, the Level II analyst will serve as an escalation point for Level I analysts, demonstrating expertise in one or more areas and contributing to the design and updating of automated testing tools. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and possesses strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

HYBRID/REMOTE: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance. This position requires 1 day per week for onsite work. To be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our Tyndale headquarters in Pipersville, PA (Bucks County).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, ensuring that all objectives defined in the business and technical requirements are met.
  • Design and implement advanced test scripts to assess functionality, reliability, performance, and quality of the service or product.
  • Serve as a Level I escalation point for technical issues, providing expert guidance and support to Level I analysts.
  • Work collaboratively on assigned projects and testing results, providing frequent updates to the Supervisor.
  • Identify, remedy, and document complex defects within the production environment, assess the impact scope of verified defects, and provide timely status updates to reporters.
  • Recommend, implement, and monitor preventative and corrective actions to enhance quality assurance standards continually.
  • Ensure user expectations are exceeded during the testing process.
  • Draft and update quality assurance policies and procedures, demonstrating strong documentation skills and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more areas of expertise, contributing significant knowledge to the testing process.
  • Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures, demonstrating creative problem-solving skills.
  • Document software defects using a bug-tracking system and report complex issues to software developers.
  • Identify, analyze, and document complex problems with program function, output, online screens, or content.
  • Develop sophisticated testing programs addressing database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
  • Recommend strategic improvements in software to enhance user experience.
  • Install, maintain, or utilize advanced software testing programs.
  • Perform initial debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs, or code pieces to determine the source of complex issues.
  • Design and develop automated testing tools to streamline testing processes and ensure automated test scripts are regularly updated.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, computer information science, or information technology, or experience in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or a related field, including some experience in a senior or lead role.
  • Experience with test automation tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and the application validation process.
  • Knowledge of automation testing methodologies, UI testing tools, and programming language algorithms.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and SQL database management systems.
  • Experience with software development and deployment management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Git, etc.
  • Experience with communication tools: Slack, Skype, Zoom, etc.
  • Experience with Testing Tools such as Selenium and TestComplete.
  • Ability to interact with end-users to assist in troubleshooting and training.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in web/mobile/API/requirements testing.
  • Proficiency in writing test scripts.
  • Ability to describe defects clearly and accurately.
