Job brief
o We are looking for a skilled Machinist to manage and operate a Haas VF-6/40 Vertical Mill at our facility. You will operate a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine to complete component level and finished parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important as it provides the items required for next step processes and finished parts for customers.
o An operator must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will be able to manage and maintain the machine, have great attention to detail for proper part manufacture, maintain quality procedures, and keep accurate records.
o Familiarity with G- & M-Coding, SolidWorks CAM, and the ability to program are preferred.
o Pay will be based on experience including machine operation and programming capabilities.
· Responsibilities
o Plans the required machining by understanding work orders, blueprints, engineering direction, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, machining parameters and interpretation of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
o Develop and set up tools, vices, and fixtures for a mix of both high and low volume orders.
o Programming and adjusting of machine by entering instructions including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs when available.
o Validates settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample parts.
o Sort and identify completed parts to stage for next operation in production.
o Inspect parts using proper measuring equipment confirming item correctness & part tolerance.
o Perform regular and preventative maintenance per manufacturer recommendations and troubleshooting faults and errors.
o Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
o Perform other duties as assigned.
· Requirements
o Proven experience as a skilled machinist.
o Ability to read and utilize measuring equipment to ensure proper part production.
o Solid math, conceptual and problem-solving skills along with process improvement awareness.
o Print comprehension and material a plus.
o Familiarity with G- & M-Coding, SolidWorks CAM, and the ability to program are preferred.
