Computer Scientist- Entry Level

A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking an entry level Computer Scientist to perform software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation and maintenance of complex computer systems for the Mode S secondary radar beacon system. This position involves work with radar, communications and computer support for radar facilities within the network of the National Airspace System (NAS).

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide software development in the Windows and/or Linux environment to support NAS systems.
• Provide support in formally testing software solutions.
• Provide support in the development of system documentation.
• Write procedures and analyze documents relating to modifications.
• Document system configurations.
• Experience with software programming in the languages used for the NAS and NAS support systems including C, C++, Java, SQL and Assembly.
• Work independently with close supervision.

Other Job Functions:

• Provide system and network administration support.
• Provide system modification and deployment support.
• Provide programming, design and other software support as needed.
• Support hardware and systems personnel with other tasks as needed.
• Maintain the lab areas and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Skills Required:

• Experience building requirements, designing, developing, and testing software solutions.
• Experience with Linux or modern Unix equivalent and Windows operating systems.
• Experience programming in C and C++.
• Experience scripting languages.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Some physical demands during testing, system maintenance, and preparation of operational units are required to include ability to climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces occasionally.
• Must be able to work at heights comfortably.
• Must be willing to travel.
• US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is required.
• Upon conditional offer of employment candidates will be subject to a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain Government clearance.
• Verification of past employment, verification of education and references are also required.

Skills Preferred:

• Ability to write procedures to document current and future processes.
• Ability to provide and adhere to project schedules.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Math, or other technical degree from a college or university accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and one (1) year of related work experience in a computer science or math field.
