Solidworks Drafter

Job Summary

Position reports to Engineering Manager.

Areas of responsibility include producing and releasing of production drawings and details to manufacturing.

Job Duties

Ø  Apply drafting standards per ASME Y14.5M to produce production drawings and details to manufacturing.

·         Compute mathematical formulas to develop and provide detailed specifications for components or machinery.

·         Confer with appropriate representatives to review requirements and answer questions pertaining to the drawing and detailing of the equipment.

·         Be familiar with engineering change orders and ensure the revisions are incorporated into the drawings.

·         Lay-out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.

Ø  Meet job requirements, quality standards and schedule dates.

·         Create accurate bill of materials.

·         Create accurate requisition list (pre-order) for that specific job.

·         Examine engineering documents for completeness and accuracy.

·         Follow quality procedures and standards.

·         Position instructions and comments onto drawings.

·         Release production drawings and details to manufacturing.

Ø  Comply with H&S Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs.

·         Read, comprehend, and comply with H&S Safety Manual and Employee Handbook.

Ø  Other activities as directed by Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

Ø  Mechanical Engineering Technology AS degree or Computer Aided Drafting and Design Technology (CADD) AAS degree or 5 years related experience.

Ø  Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications.

Ø  Ability to give, receive and understand oral and written instructions in English.

Ø  Stable employment and attendance history.
