K-Flex USA is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for our Youngsville, NC plant. This position will be on our second shift, from 3:00pm-11:30pm, perfect for anyone looking for a position that is not during traditional business hours. What you will be doing:

This position is an entry level to intermediate level position in the Quality Department. Entry Level covers 0 to 6 months in the department or equivalent experience. Intermediate level includes up to 12 months in the department or equivalent experience. The entry level Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for learning and performing all quality inspections required for the Continuous and Batch Extrusion Lines. The candidate must also learn and perform additional testing techniques for the Sheet and Pipe Conversion Operations and complete all applicable documentation. The intermediate Quality Assurance Technician includes the above tasks as well as learning to perform additional tasks related to the production and auditing of Pipe, Sheet, and Sheet Conversion operations and completing all associated documentation.

Day-to-day responsibilities for entry level QA Technicians include:

  • Being compliant and in good standing with all safety and security procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workplace in accordance with 6S protocol.
  • Ability to use testing apparatus such as digital and dial calipers, arbors (i.e., plug gages), Pi tape, tape measure, scale, and calculator.
  • Auditing & measuring of elastomeric sheet and pipe product.
  • Recording and reporting test results in a timely and organized manner.
  • Effectively communicating any quality concerns and non-conformances to Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Operations in a timely and organized manner. Quarantine non-conforming materials per procedure.

Intermediate level responsibilities include:

  • All Duties as outlined by the Job Description for an entry level QA Technician AND:
  • Having a working knowledge of all areas and products requiring auditing.
  • Perform daily audit activities in any area upon request.
  • Substitute for other QA’s who go on break, on vacation, or who are otherwise absent.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Entry level -

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in quality control function in a manufacturing environment (preferred but not required).
  • Must be able to communicate, read, and write in English. Communicating in both Spanish and English is a plus.
  • Previous experience within K-Flex such as Packing, Mixing, Warehouse, PE, etc. is a plus!

Intermediate level -

  • High School diploma or equivalent (some secondary education preferred but not required).
  • Up to 3 years of experience in quality control function in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Must be able to communicate, read, and write in English. Communicating in both Spanish and English is a plus.
  • Previous experience within K-Flex such as Packing, Mixing, Warehouse, PE, etc. is a plus!

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic mathematic skills (some basic knowledge of both standard & metric units of measure and conversion).
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred, Word, Excel etc.).
  • This position also requires a candidate who can work with a minimal amount of supervision, direct manufacturing associates to take action when non-conformances occur (as required and in regards to quality control and assurance), is self-motivated, well organized, team oriented and possesses good communication skills.
  • Must be flexible as to weekday schedule and available for overtime as needed to include weekends.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift objects of up to 50 lbs.
