Description

We are actively pursuing an intern majoring in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering for our Dallas Site to support our advanced wound care and consumer products facility.

The internship will provide exposure to many aspects of operations including a multi-functional team setting, real time production, process experience and project work with specific deliverables and exposure to the health and wellness leadership team. The Intern will participate in our production line operations to learn technical properties and quality issues of various liquids, gels, powder formulation & filling, packaging and sterilization work centers.

Ideal candidates will possess high initiative and drive, with a curiosity to perpetually learn and improve our business. Key requirements include the ability to analyze information to find opportunities, effectively communicate, and work collaboratively in a team setting. Rate of pay ranges from $20/hour to $25/hour depending upon internship experience. The Mativ Summer Internship Program is scheduled to start on May 20, 2024 - August 9, 2024. Our paid internship offers a well-rounded experience including: meaningful work, dedicated intern manager, community service, professional development and more.

responsibilities
  • Work with Technical and Operations teams on process efficiency improvements, cost savings and/or technology advancement.
  • Attending meetings with leadership team, reporting out and assigned tasks from meeting.
  • Work with engineers and identify operational efficiencies and reduce re-work.
  • Participate in the development of improved machine operating standards for every production line.
  • Work with leadership to modify processes for devices, install, repair and maintain equipment used for manufacturing and quality control, and make sure that machinery operates correctly and safely.
  • Project work as assigned by the Dallas Leadership and consulting team.

qualifications:
  • Individual must be currently enrolled and working toward a degree with a concentration in Material Science, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Student will need to have completed a minimum of 1-full years of course work with preference for individuals who have completed 2-full years.
  • Preference is a minimum 3.0 GPA in your academic field of study.
  • Must have solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Ideal candidates will possess high initiative and drive, with a curiosity to perpetually learn and improve our business.
