BICYCLE ASSEMBLER: For high quality bicycles at premier bike shop

Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who can be a key player in our busy service department. A solid understanding of bicycles and basic knowledge of bike systems (how gears and brakes work) ARE REQUIRED for this position. Applicants with prior experience working on bicycles in a bike shop or at home are preferred.

We provide PAID TRAINING for qualified individuals that have excellent mechanical skills AND some prior experience repairing bicycles. Working on most Saturdays during spring summer is required.

Duties

In this job you will assist our Service Manager /or Senior Bike Mechanic, simultaneously and independently, to

• Assemble and prepare various types of new bikes, including hybrid, mountain, kids and electric models.
• Install accessories on bikes including racks, fenders, phone cases etc.
• Perform basic bike repairs such flat tire repairs and tube installations
• Assist in cleaning customers' bikes that are scheduled for a tune-up
• Provide some customer service while following Farina's protocols
• Assist customers who are picking up new bikes and rental bikes
• Assist in receiving and unloading deliveries of bikes and other equipment
• Must be able to lift bicycles/equipment/boxes that weights 20-60lbs.
