Pennsylvania Steel has been in business since 1972 and has expanded to 11 locations in 2017, becoming one of the largest Steel Service Centers in the eastern United States.

The Throop, PA branch is looking for a Machine Operator for our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shifts. This is a full-time, permanent role.

Job Objective:

To contribute to the attainment of company sales and profitability by performing an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock, picking and filling orders from stock, processing material (i.e. saw cutting, shearing or burning) to customer's requirements or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.

Position Responsibilities:

•Processing material per customer order requirements, including saw cutting, shearing or burning metal

•Keeping a clean and safe working environment

•Communicating and cooperating with supervisors and coworkers

•Operating and maintaining warehouse vehicles and equipment

•Following the company's quality system

•Complying with all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes

Key Performance Indicators:

•Customer complaints

•Production errors

•Non-conformity reports

•Safety/Regulatory issues

•Equipment issues

Experience and Skills
Position Requirements:

•Must be at least 18 years old

•Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

•Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 8-10 hours daily

•Must be able to read measuring equipment (tape measure, caliper and micrometer)

•Must have acceptable mathematical skills

•Must be willing to be trained and operate industrial equipment

•Must be willing to work overtime when required

•Previous work experience receiving, loading/unloading material, packing, labeling or picking within a warehouse environment a plus
